What is Finishing?
It's the skilled process of preparing a surface and then applying protective and aesthetic products to it. This process enhances the wood's appearance and adds durability. The finish protects it from moisture, wear, and other environmental factors. It typically involves using job specific materials for interior or exterior use to seal and protect the wood while maintaining or enhancing its natural beauty, grain, and texture. Finishing typically involves staining or dyeing the wood and then applying a top coating. It can also be priming and then solid color painting with necessary top coats to preserve the paint and add durability. In addition it may involve faux finishes such as graining or marbleizing.  They all can be used when a specific effect or look is desired.
